Camp Birkett (Ages 5-12)
Camp Birkett has provided traditional day camping on the shores of Silver Lake for more than 80 years. With a great beach, playing fields, unique activities, and woods to explore, there's something for every camper to enjoy. Be a part of the tradition and join us for another summer of fun at Camp Birkett.
Camp Birkett is the perfect place to introduce your child to camping without sleeping away from home. Your child will have the chance to participate in activities like canoeing, sailing, swimming, arts and crafts, archery, nature, sports, low ropes team building and much more. Want to experience Camp Birkett with your child? Join us for our Family Potlucks! After the potluck, your child can experience a night camping out during our sleepovers.
Price: Members $230, Non-Members $250
Two Week Options
Do you want your child to experience Camp Birkett for more than one session? Take advantage of continuous programming during our two week options. Your child will experience two weeks as if they were a single session. Campers signed up for two consecutive sessions will be in the same group as they move through programming without the stop and start of a new week. Please refer to the registration packet for details on two week options, since not all session combinations are continuous.
Junior Leader-In-Training (LIT) Program (Ages 13-14)
The Junior Leader-In-Training (LIT) program allows campers to build their leadership skills and assume some counselor responsibilities while still participating in Camp Birkett activities. The Junior LIT Program is a combination of workshops, supervised opportunities with younger campers, program planning and general camp activities. Leadership skills and teamwork are emphasized along with the development of the character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Sessions 1-10 run concurrently with Camp Birkett program offerings.
Price: Members $230, Non-Members $230
Senior Leader-in-Training (LIT) Program (Ages 15-16)
The two-week Senior LIT option is an opportunity for your teen to continue their participation in the LIT program. For teens with no prior LIT experience, or for those who have been a Junior LIT in the past, this is a wonderful chance to develop YMCA camp counselor skills. During his or her two-week session, your teen assume responsibilities and complete tasks focused on interaction with and care of campers. Under the guidance and supervision of the Leadership Director, Senior LITs will put into practice the skills learned over the week on a daily basis.
Price: Members $460, Non-Members $460
