Child Care

Whether your child is with us for one hour while you work out, one afternoon for a class or five days a week, we take his or her development very seriously!  Every youth program at the Ann Arbor YMCA seeks to foster the four pillars of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in your child.  Our caring staff is here to make sure that every program participant feels welcomed and valued.  For more information, click on the hot-linked titles below, or contact the following staff:

Child Watch

Child Watch is complimentary child care for children ages 6 months to 11 years old whose parents are inside the Y building using the facility.  Children play and do crafts under the caring supervision of Y staff.  This complimentary child care is benefit of Y membership.

Early Childhood Program 

The Y's nationally accredited Early Childhood Program for children ages 2 1/2 - 5 focuses on providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Preschool Classes

The Y's preschool classes are specially geared towards the two and half to five year old.  Each class, no matter what the specific subject matter, works on the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.


School Age Child Care - After School Program  

  The Y's School Age After School Program provides a safe, comfortable environment for children from kindergarten through fourth grade  to acquire life and social skills and learn the Y's character values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.  

Teen After School Program

The Teen After School Program provides teens with a safe and nurturing environment where they can develop healthy relationships and learn foundational skills through the Y core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility. Come join us daily for great activities focused on leadership, teamwork, individual growth, and healthy lifestyles. We also offer academic assistance and plenty of free time for your teen to relax in a safe and fun environment. Indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, and service learning are all a part of the regular schedule. Transportation is provided for as many participants as possible and is limited based on capacity. Financial aid is also available to qualifying applicants. Teen After Hours: 


Introducing a youth-driven drop-in center for Teen Members! The Teen Center will offer free activities that are engaging, attractive to young people and give teens a safe place to spend their time playing games, working on homework and meeting new people while fostering their talents, energy and creativity.

Staffed by caring adults, trained to work with teens, the Teen center will be open Monday – Friday from 6-8 p.m. beginning February 2nd.
