for new members
Welcome to your Ann Arbor YMCA! With the Y's focus on nurturing children and teens, improving people's health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our neighbors, your membership will bring about meaningful change in both your life and in your community.
If you’ve just joined the YMCA, our staff can help you get started. Whether you’re interested in signing up for a class, getting to know other members, using our wellness center, or swimming in the pool, we’re here to help!
Take a Tour
While touring the building with our Member Specialists you will learn about YMCA classes, programs, special events and workshops for you or your family. Staff can even show you how to use our online registration system. Our specialists are available by phone at 661-8009 or 661-8045.
We have numerous opportunities for members to volunteer for the YMCA. Volunteer opportunities include helping prepare meals with our Chain of Plenty program at the Delonis Center, coaching sports teams, assisting with activities in our childcare and teen programs and more. If you are a member and would like to learn more about current volunteer opportunities, please visit our volunteer page.
All members are encouraged to have an orientation to the exercise equipment. During this orientation, a wellness floor staff member can:
• Take you through the cardiovascular and Cybex weight circuit equipment
• Show you how to use it all safely and effectively
• Help you find your personal settings on each machine
• Answer your general fitness questions
Wellness floor staff members are often available to give you a full orientation without a reservation, but if you’d like to reserve an orientation time, which is recommended, you can stop by the Member Desk in the main lobby, or call (734) 996-9622.
