Teen After School Program

The Teen After School Program is a well-rounded afterschool experience for 5th to 8th graders.  Come join us daily for great activities focused on leadership, teamwork, individual growth, and healthy lifestyles.  We also offer academic assistance and of course plenty of free time for your teen to relax in a safe and fun environment.  Indoor/Outdoor activities, field trips, and service learning are all a part of the regular schedule.  Transportation is made available to as many participants as possible.  Financial aid is also available to qualifying applicants.  Please contact Josh Humbel at 734-661-8012 or jhumbel@annarborymca.org for questions.

 

Teen Strength Training

Ages 12-14

This 8-week class is a great way to introduce teens to proper strength training techniques for their age group using selected variable resistance machines. By focusing on form and safety, teens will learn how these exercises affect various muscle groups. Boys’ and girls’ classes will meet separately, one day per week.

Age: 12-14 Fee: $25 Members, $60 non-members

Schedule: Boys:Tuesday, 4:00-5:00pm, Girls:

Thursday 4:00-5:00pm

Teen Yoga

(Ages 13+)

This class will offer teens the structures of yoga to discover more about themselves. The the goal of the class is for teens to develop a balanced and integrated body for a lifetime of health and wellness through self-awareness and self-management. Teen Yoga will be a hybrid of non-competitive games and partner poses, discussion, time-in, warm-up, a yoga posture sequence and rest with visualization.

Age: 13+

Wednesday 4-5pm

Location: Studio D

Fee: $30 members, $55 non-members

Instructor: Tracy Moses, experienced

and certified K-12 teacher and Yoga Ed. instructor.
