Youth Futsal League (March-April)
YMCA Youth Futsal League is an instructional league for children in kindergarten-5th grade that began at the Y! The game of Futsal promotes lots of touches on the ball and focuses on teamwork, skill development and fun!
Played on basketball-sized courts, without the use of sidewalls, this indoor version of soccer helps children develop better skills because of the smaller field and reduced number of players.
Our instructional Youth Futsal League for children in Kindergarten-5th grade runs the week of February 25-April 19, 2013. There are no games or practices during the week of the AAPS spring break (Monday April 1 - Friday April 5).
We offer three divisions based on your child’s age:
Rookies (Kindergarten-1st Grade)
One 25 minute practice immediately followed by a 24 minute game once a week. Meets Wednesday alternating 4:30/5:30 practice/game times. Small sided games, size 3 balls.
2013 FUTSAL LEAGUE - ALL PRACTICES BEGIN AT 5:30 P.M.
Winners (2-3 Grade)
One 30 minute practice immediately followed by a 40 minute game once a week. Meets Tuesday, alternating 4:30/5:45 practice/game times. Small sided games, size 4 balls.
2013 FUTSAL LEAGUE - ALL PRACTICES BEGIN AT 5:30 P.M.
Champions (4-5th Grade)
One 30 minute practice immediately followed by a 40 minute game once a week. Meets Monday alternating 4:30/5:45 practice/game times. Small sided games, size 4 balls.
Your child will be placed in a league based on his/her school grade as of February 25, 2013. All practices and games are held at the Ann Arbor YMCA. Every child will receive the same amount of playing time.

■ Become a Y volunteer coach!
Y youth sports teams are coached by one or two trained YMCA volunteer coaches, many of whom are parents or community members. If you like to work with children and enjoy helping them learn and succeed, we need you! If you are interested in coaching, you need to be at least 18 years of age and attend a Y coach’s workshop prior to the start of the season. Our workshops introduce volunteers like you to the YMCA’s character values and youth development philosophy. Our workshops also give you the practical skills necessary to teach and lead youth sports teams. No formal coaching experience is necessary; all we ask is that you are committed to helping young people build positive images of themselves and develop a passion for an active lifestyle.
Coaches training will take place at the Ann Arbor YMCA on Wednesday, February 13 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
