The Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living’s Gallup Park Day! - Thursday June 10th – 3pm-7:30pm YVC will be helping the CIL kick-off the start of their summer programming with a celebration at Gallup Park! There will be games, activities, bbq, paddle-boats and much, much more! We will be helping with paddle-boats, set-up, tear-down, playing games and most of all having a great time outdoors! We will be meeting inside the front doors of the Ann Arbor YMCA at 3pm and will be leaving for Gallup Park at 3:40pm. I realize that some schools do not get out until around then so if you would rather meet us at the park that is fine as long as I know ahead of time how you will be getting there and if you will need a ride back with YVC. We will also help with clean-up at 7 and will be back at the YMCA for pick-up by 7:30 at the latest. Please let me know if you have any questions and remember that sign-up is required for this and all YVC school-year projects.

YVC of Ann Arbor’s End of School-Year Thank You Extravaganza! – Saturday June 19th – 12pm-2pm We are nearing the end of the YVC School-Year program for 2009-10. This has been an incredible 9 months of service-learning! Since October we have completed over 40 projects, thanks to over 200 volunteers who have given over 650 hours of their time helping to make our community a better place! The YVC of Ann Arbor would like to thank you for your commitment to volunteering and to the YVC of Ann Arbor by throwing you a party! The End of School-Year Thank You Extravaganza will take place @ TBD on Saturday June 19th from 12-2pm. This event is only open to YVC Volunteers who have participated in at least 1 project this school-year. Sign-up is still required for this event so that I can make sure we have enough food, drink, treats, etc. We will be hanging somewhere hopefully outside to reflect on what we have done this year, play games, eat, laugh, and to talk about next year! I will be sending another email to those signed up with more details, but please let me know if you have any other questions.
