Cv-19 Protocol (Health & Safety)

By October 19, 2020February 1st, 2021News & Events

Your safety is our priority. You will find newly enhanced cleaning, sanitation and safety protocols that align
with CDC, local and state guidance, including:

Common area surfaces
Our team will clean and disinfect all common area surfaces such as door handles, railings, sinks and
countertops every hour.

Each weekday afternoon
We will close the building to disinfect all areas with our Electrostatic sprayer (process of spraying an
electrostatically charged mist onto surfaces and objects, these positively charged particles adhere to
surfaces and objects which allows the sanitizing agent to disinfect the covered surfaces). An emphasis is
being placed on restrooms, locker rooms and equipment. Employees are cleaning their designated
areas/stations throughout the day. You will see these cleaning checklists at numerous stations throughout
the building.

Full-facility cleaning
Our evening crew cleans the building using one-step disinfectants. As a final step, all areas of the building
are sprayed with disinfectant from our Electrostatic sprayer to further disinfect all touch points.

Our Products: The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved Buckeye ECO One-Step
Disinfectant/Cleaner E22 for use against SARS-Related Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) with a three-minute
contact at a ½ oz/gal. dilution rate. The electrostatic sprayer uses Total 360 Disinfectant Cleaner which
sanitizes hard, nonporous surfaces in 1 minute and kills C. Diff in 5 minutes and 38 additional bacteria,
viruses and fungi in 1 minute. Information Sheets on both of these products are at the Membership and
Health and Wellness Desks.

EXTRA STEPS – Additional resources

MERV 12: Working with our HVAC vendors we have increased the MERV rating of our air handler filters to
the maximum responsible size for our units, from 8 to 12. This traps 75% of particles 1-3 microns or larger.
Outside air increase: With our BAS (Building Automation System) we can increase the amount of outside
air flowing into the building. This introduction of outside air and expelling indoor air as opposed to
recirculating comes from the recommendation by the CDC. Our building air is circulated 100% twice every
hour (with the outdoor temperature changes we are currently doing 30 min changes).

Additional Cleaning Info: We have removed our towels for wiping down equipment and have provided
disposable wipes with Eco disinfectant/cleaner E22, as per above. We have more sanitizing and cleaning
stations throughout the entire building with all staff trained on new cleaning procedures.
