Health Recharge

10-week prevention and intervention exercise program

The curriculum of Health Recharge is built from the Exercise is Medicine® program. EIM is a global health initiative managed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), with a vision to make physical activity assessment and promotion a standard in clinical care, connecting health care with evidence-based physical activity resources for people everywhere and of all abilities.

EIM encourages physicians and other health care providers to include physical activity when designing treatment plans and to refer patients to evidence-based exercise programs and qualified exercise professionals. EIM is committed to the belief that physical activity promotes optimal health and is integral in the prevention and treatment of many medical conditions.

The Ann Arbor YMCA’s mission is to put our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into action through facilities and programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We are an Association made up of people from every walk of life, working side by side to strengthen communities.

Together we strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, race, gender, gender expression, gender identity, income, faith, sexual orientation or cultural background has the opportunity to live life to its fullest. Membership dues cover the costs of operating YMCA facilities, but they do not support additional costs for outreach programs and financial assistance for the less advantaged.
