Due to a broken glass bottle at the edge of the lap-swimming pool surface, the lap-swimming pool at the Ann Arbor Y will be closed indefinitely.
When glass is broken in the natatorium, especially in close proximity to a pool, the Y is forced to completely drain and refill the affected pool to ensure the glass has been safely removed. Unfortunately, the drainage and refilling of the lap-swimming pool is a multi-day process. At this time, we cannot confidently ensure an exact reopening date but will send further notification as soon as a reopening date and time have been determined.
As a reminder, during our ongoing remodeling project, Y members have free access to Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center (includes pool access).
Through Sept. 22nd, all Ann Arbor YMCA members will have FREE access to Meri Lou Recreation Center (2960 Washtenaw, Ann Arbor, MI). Please present your scan tag for entry. The Y will also have options for group fitness classes running in various locations such as the gymnasium, under our building and at West Park.
