MASKS REQUIRED BEGINNING AUGUST 10 FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS OF INDOOR Y PROGRAMS & FACILITIES

The CDC is recommending that everyone in a County that is experiencing either “substantial” or “high” transmission rates wear masks in indoor public places.

Since Washtenaw County is currently listed as having a “substantial” COVID-19 transmission rate, the Ann Arbor YMCA is going back to requiring mask wearing for everyone, both unvaccinated and vaccinated, who are inside of our Y’s facilities or participating in any indoor Y programs.

Because the Y is a Youth Development organization that has numerous unvaccinated children under the age of 12 in our care, we continue to act in a manner that is Socially Responsible and are choosing to proceed with an abundance of caution to protect those who are most vulnerable, and to promote Healthy Living.

As before, the only exception is for children under the age of 2, and for people who are actively in the pool or in the process of showering.
