The advanced fencing course is aimed at preparing students as if for USFA or collegiate competition. The whole repertoire of foil techniques and the basics of sabre and epee will be explored. Students will also gain experience using electrical scoring in all three weapons as well as refereeing. Visits by guest instructors and advanced fencers will enrich the experience. If the schedule permits, a field trip to a USFA tournament will be offered.

The advanced fencer can augment his/her practice by signing up for  Practice Sessions (free with registration in another class) on Sunday’s 11:00 am- 2:00 pm.

There is an additional Studio Practice available (not free) for fencers looking to supplement their group lessons and sparring with individual drills with a coach. Each studio participant will get a 10-minute lesson tailored to his or her individual needs and will have additional opportunities to spar with other students.
