
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. The practice adapts traditional yoga poses so they are more accessible for people who cannot stand for long periods. Many of the basic body mechanics of the individual postures are retained. Classes will include versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild back bends. Chair yoga improves strength, flexibility, mental clarity and both stress and pain management.
