PROGRAM DETAILS
Filmmaking is a powerful form of artmaking, and Visual Voices encourages teens to explore community engagement and empowerment through their creative efforts. Visual Voices is designed to teach tangible film production skills while offering a chance for teens to explore interests through generative creative exploration. In this camp, teens will exercise creative muscles by learning various filmmaking techniques and production skills involved in the process of pre production, production, and post production. We will learn skills such as: storyboarding, script writing, camera equipment use, roles on filming sets, and video/audio editing software.
This program is offered as a day camp through the summer months, and as a 7-week after school program during the school year.
Visual Voices participants will:
- Develop technical (camera and audio) skills
- Build and strengthen effective verbal and written communication skills
- Develop character that promotes cause-driven leadership to affect social change
