Do something out of the ordinary with your exercise program…slow down, do smaller movements, and repeat the following mantra…”no pain is MORE gain.” This is the essence of the Feldenkrais Method®. By shifting exercise into slow motion you can refine your movement patterns to: (1) eliminate extraneous and counter-productive effort; (2) more precisely activate just the muscles that are needed and use just the effort that is required: and (3) reduce the aches and pains following exercise. Essentially, you bring more mindfulness to how you move.
The classes are suitable for almost everyone, but those with a medical condition should have a doctor’s approval and speak with the class instructor. Please dress for light exercise. Participants need to be able to get to the floor (mats) and rise without assistance.
