Ann Arbor YMCA • Feldenkrais

Ages: 15 and up

*This class will return at a later date.*

The Feldenkrais method is an exercise form created by Moshe Feldenkrais, a judo black-belt and physicist. He developed his method of improving movement following knee injuries that left him increasingly unable to move without pain. Buy learning to move more efficiently he was able to continue walking without surgery.

A combination of unique movement patterns combined with kinesthetic awareness cues helps make Feldenkrais exercises particularly effective. The Feldenkrais Method can be appropriate for athletes and performers as well as people dealing with painful conditions. However, if you have a movement challenge it is always best to check with your physician, physical therapist or other medical professional before participating. Please dress for light exercise. Participants should be able to get to the floor (mats) and rise without assistance.
