Perfect your posture! Two workshops are offered in this series.  Stretching and strengthening are typical strategies for fixing physical challenges, but learning to move one’s body better to improve comfort and mobility is often overlooked. It is in this way that the movement patterns and directed attention of the Feldenkrais Method® can help. Each workshop in the series can be taken separately, but for maximum benefit consider taking both.

Feldenkrais 1: Your Shoulders and Your Posture
Explore the role of posture in the health of your shoulders. We will learn movement patterns that put your shoulders in a much better relationship with your spine, rib cage and head. When your shoulders have good skeletal support, they function with greater ease, greater comfort, and less restriction. Sunday April 28, 12:45-2:45 p.m.  

Feldenkrais 2. Activating the Glutes
Explore the role that strong, active gluteal muscles play in walking and running. Learn exercises to activate, strengthen and coordinate your glutes. You will learn to distinguish when your glutes are active (i.e., working) and when they are not. Leave the workshop with an upgraded gait, recordings of the movement exploration for home practice, and an understanding of how to use your glutes with awareness in daily activities.
