Feldenkrais 1. Sunday, March 5, 2017. 1-2:30 pm: “Crawling is the New Plank”
Reset your body to a more mobile, better integrated, pleasant-to-move state by revisiting CRAWLING. Crawling is a movement pattern that the vast majority of us used at some point in our life to develop the coordination for walking and running. Returning as adults to the movement patterns of child development will revitalize our adult movement patterns in a profound way. We will explore basic crawling patterns as well as more sophisticated crawling patterns in this workshop. Learn some new moves to align, balance and coordinate for better walking, running, swimming, biking and more!
Feldenkrais 2. Sunday, March 26, 2017, 1-2:30 pm: “Rolling is the New Stretching”
Reset your body to a more mobile, better integrated, pleasant-to-move state by revisiting ROLLING. Rolling is a movement pattern that the vast majority of us used in our progression from being stuck on our backs (or bellies) to working our way up to sit, crawl and walk. Returning as an adult to the movement patterns of your child development will revitalize your adult movement patterns in a profound way. Rather than stretching, we will ROLL to generate length in our spine and overall mobility. We will explore basic and more complex rolling patterns that have their origin in child development and martial arts. You can expect to both relax and re-energize, improve mobility and coordination and…have fun!
