Yin is a wonderful compliment to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga. The purpose of this flow is to reshape connective tissues which allow the body greater function. Yin yoga offers the same benefits as any other yoga practice, but with deeper stimulation. Yin targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones and the joints of the body that might not be exercised as much in a more active practice. Yin poses are generally practiced closer to the ground and very supportive. It targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. During this flow students will hold poses for 3-5 minutes. This practice is suited for all levels.
