Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is the youth-run governing body of the Youth Volunteer Corps and consists of youth volunteers who have served in the YVC program. YAC determines program direction, provides input on policy, strategic plan, program assessment and supports philanthropic initiatives.

YVC Mission Statement: To activate social change through meaningful service-learning projects that promote a greater understanding and appreciation for the diversity of community and broaden definition of volunteerism.  YVC is dedicated to promoting a lifelong ethic of volunteerism and commitment to social justice.

YVC Program Summary: The YVC is youth-driven volunteer program for young community activists who are interested in leading social change through challenging, rewarding, and educational service-learning projects. YVC collaborates with partners across Washtenaw, Livingston, and parts of Wayne counties to meet community needs. Through facilitated service-learning projects, workshops, trainings, and interactive dialogue, YVC participants work in teams to accomplish community goals.
