The Ann Arbor YMCA will offer a traditional day camp experience at  Global Tech Academy (1715 East Forest Avenue, Ypsilanti, MI 48198) for children ages 5 to 11 years old. The camp sessions will run Monday—Friday, 8:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m., June 15- August 7. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all campers courtesy of Food Gatherers.

Leader-in-Training Program (LIT) for students entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade, allows older campers to build leadership skills and assume some counselor responsibilities while still participating in their favorite Camp Birkett activities.  Through a combination of workshops, supervised opportunities with younger campers, program planning and general camp activities, participants will be exposed to the basic elements of youth development through the lens of a camp counselor.  Leadership skills, teamwork, and the development of the YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are emphasized.

The fee for Ypsilanti YMCA Day Camp at Global Tech Academy is $100 per session. A deposit of $10 will be due regardless if the camper is applying for financial assistance.

As a participant in the Ypsilanti YMCA Day Camp at Global Tech Academy campers will have the opportunity to take part in traditional camp activities as well as arts and crafts, science experiments, nutrition lessons, team-building activities, sports, field trips and more!


In addition to our Traditional Day Camp programs, Ypsilanti Day Camp will now be offering half-day specialty camps for a customizable summer camp experience! In partnership with the Ypsilanti Township Community Center (2025 East Clark Road, Ypsilanti 48198)  campers will have the opportunity to choose a morning camp and an afternoon camp for a personalized day of fun! Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all campers courtesy of Food Gatherers. Specialty Camps will run June 22 – August 7.


The YMCA is an environment that is open and inclusive to ALL. To ensure that our summer camp and programs are accessible, scholarships and financial assistance are available to those who qualify. To apply for a scholarship online or over the phone during the registration process, indicate that you are a scholarship applicant when prompted. You will then need to submit income documentation by Monday May 27. The following forms of income documentation are accepted: federal tax form, employer paystubs, proof of government assistance (DHS/Food Assistance, SSI/SSDI/Pension Report, MESC Benefit Report), and/or student documentation (financial aid budget breakdown, award letter from college/university). The deadline to apply for a scholarship will be Monday May 25. Scholarships will be awarded on Thursday May 28.
