For beginner level fencers of all ages. This class is devoted to introducing Olympic style foil fencing. Students will learn the basic techniques of this age-old sport and work on reaction, timing, and point-control. Working together, students gain knowledge of etiquette and safety precautions, as well as an understanding for the rules and proceedings of a fencing match. Fencing is a mental and physical high energy sport, providing the intrigue of sword play with cardiovascular conditioning. Please wear court shoes, loose fitting, full-length pants, and a short-sleeved t-shirt. Equipment is provided.

Fencing is a complex sport that requires regular practice and consistency. Attendance is encouraged each week, with options for private lessons available for those looking to progress their technique faster.
