How are medications handled at camp?
Below is our procedure for handling medication(s) at camp.
- Parents/guardians are expected to place medication(s) in a Ziploc bag with the child’s name, the name of medication, and dosage instructions (preferably left in its original bottle).
- At check-in on Monday, staff collect the medication(s) from the parents/guardians and place them inside of our portable medication lockbox for safekeeping.
- Medication(s) will be administered by the Health Officer or by a member of the Camp Leadership Team. EpiPens/Inhalers will be given to camp counselors in a portable lockbox for quick access in case of emergency but will be returned to the Camp Office at the end of the day.
- Medication(s) will stay in the Camp Office until Friday (unless there are other arrangements made with the parents/guardians. On Friday afternoon, medication(s) will be available for pick-up at check out.

Give the gift of camp
Do you know a child who could benefit from a scholarship to camp?
Every day, the Y works to ensure that everyone has the opporutnity to learn, grow and thrive. Through the generous support of donors, we provide scholarship assistance to give every kid the chance to experience camp.
Please consider making a tax-deductible charitable contribution to our Annual Campaign to help send a child to camp. When you give to the Y, you strengthen your community.
