The Neighborhood Collaborative, powered by the Ann Arbor YMCA, is a dynamic community space designed to serve the Ypsilanti community right in their backyard. Located in the former Chapelle Elementary School, we offer group exercise, wellness programming, before and after-school care, day camps, out-of-school-time care, and more.

Powered by the Ann Arbor YMCA, we envision a space that blends physical and mental well-being, civic engagement, healthy living, youth development, and arts and humanities. This community space aims to foster a sense of belonging, well-being and lifelong learning. Before & After-School Care
School Age Before & After-School Programs for ages 5-12 run from 7:30 a.m. until students board the bus, and resume after classes until 6 p.m.
The Neighborhood Collaborative delivers before and after-school programs for Ypsilanti Community School students attending YIES and Estabrook.
As the nation’s leading child care program, we believe children should have a place to explore, grow, and thrive. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing experience for your child with plenty of opportunities for growth in spirit, mind, and body. Our staff guides children through an age-appropriate curriculum that develops self-help skills and instills Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Day Camps
Summer and Out-of-School Time Camps in Ypsilanti
Camp New Heights is a day camp program in East Washtenaw County. Each week is packed with opportunities for exploration and active fun. Campers take part in themed activities, arts and crafts, science experiments, sports, enrichment activities, and more.
Throughout the summer, campers can go on swim outings at local pools. All swim outings are supervised by a YMCA-trained lifeguard.

Do I have to be a YMCA Member to visit The Neighborhood Collaborative?
No, membership to the Ann Arbor YMCA is not required to attend classes and programs at The Neighborhood Collaborative. Attendance to programs or classes at The Neighborhood Collaborative is available by purchasing Punch Cards, Group Exercise Single Visit Passes, and registering for programs.
I am a YMCA Member, do I have to pay for a punch card?
Group Exercise classes at The Neighborhood Collaborative are included in Ann Arbor YMCA membership. If you are not an Ann Arbor YMCA member and would like to attend a group exercise class, you can do so by purchasing a Punch Card or Single Visit Pass.
Programs that require registration through Daxko are to be paid at checkout unless otherwise specified.
How do I join?
The Neighborhood Collaborative offers flexible options for access to our program center and group classes. Attendance to programs or classes at the Neighborhood Collaborative is available by purchasing Punch Cards, Group Exercise Single Visit Passes, or registering for programs.
YMCA Membership is not required to attend programs or classes at The Neighborhood Collaborative. No ongoing commitment is required for Punch Cards. YMCA Membership is not required to participate.
Can I use my Punch Card at the Ann Arbor YMCA?
Punch Cards are exclusive to The Neighborhood Collaborative and may not be used at other YMCA locations. Punch Cards and Single Visit passes may not be used at other locations. If you are not a member and wish to visit the Ann Arbor YMCA (400 W Washington Street), you may do so by purchasing a Day Pass, Family Day Pass, or exploring our membership opportunities.

Policies and Expectations
The Neighborhood Collaborative is committed to providing safe, positive, and high-quality experiences for all participants in our programs. YMCA Membership is not required to attend programs or classes at this program center. Attendance to programs or classes at the Neighborhood Collaborative is available through Punch Cards, Group Fitness Single Visit Passes.
Individuals participating in group exercise, programs or community events at The Neighborhood Collaborative are expected to maintain and uphold the policies and guidelines outlined in the member agreement and the Ann Arbor YMCA membership policies.
Child Abuse Prevention
The Ann Arbor YMCA is deeply committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children. We work diligently to protect the children in our care through comprehensive child abuse prevention training, safety policies, and a culture of vigilance and care.
