The YMCA believes that every person should have an opportunity to participate in the Y and pursue their own personal goals regardless of skill or financial level. Because of our service and dedication to our community, we offer membership and program funding. Please feel free to review the department information and the links to the programs where scholarships are available.
Financial Assistance approval is based on a sliding fee scale designed to fit individual financial situations. Available funding is based on personal need, enrollment, and our financial resources.
The Open Arms financial assistance program offers scholarships towards membership which allows access to our gym, basketball courts, indoor pools and fitness floor and all the other benefits that come with belonging to the Y community. Scholarships are awarded on the 1st and the 15th of each month. If you submit your application between the 1st and the 14th of the month, your membership will be approved for the 1st of the following month. If you submit your application between the 15th and 31st, your membership will be approved for the 15th of the following month. All applications require written proof of income to determine the appropriate scholarship award every 6 months. For more information, please contact James Highsmith, Financial Assistance Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 734.661.8007.
The application may be found here.

Camp Al-Gon-Quian is the Ann Arbor YMCA’s residential summer camp located on Burt Lake in Northern Michigan. We are excited to offer financial assistance so all campers have the chance to participate in residential camp!
We will be providing scholarships for Camp Al-Gon-Quian, thanks to generous donors via the Ann Arbor YMCA’s Annual Campaign. Campers who apply for a scholarship are not required to pay a deposit to register for camp. To register a camper applying for a scholarship, please do so over the phone so you do not have to pay the deposit. We recommend signing your camper up for his or her session of choice as soon as registration opens. We will hold your camper’s spot while you fill out the YMCA financial aid application, which is due on March 15, 2017. If you have any questions or would like a scholarship packet mailed to you, please contact us in the camp office at (734) 661-8051 or email camping[at]annarborymca.org. The 2017 scholarship application is available: here
