Derrick began working with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office in 2009 and many have come to know him as the Social Worker that became a police officer. As the Director of Community Engagement he works to build bridges between law enforcement and the residents of Washtenaw County. Derrick joined the YMCA board in 2018.
