Ypsilanti Adult Fitness in the Parks Series
Summer 2018, 2nd Saturdays,10:30-11:30 AM
Join the Y and Ypsilanti Parks and Recreation for a series of five monthly Saturday morning classes from May through September! Open to adults 16 and up. Each month will feature different beginner-level classes in Ypsilanti parks from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Register in advance for $5.00 per class or register for all five and get one free! Drop-in registration will be $7.00 on site.

|June 23||Parkridge||Zumba||Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. The routines feature interval training, using fast and slow rhythms to tone your body while burning fat. Who knew working out could be this much fun!|
|June 9||Recreation||Beginner Strength Training with Resistance Bands||Strength training is an important part of being fit – at any age. Resistance bands are a great way to do strength training, even if you’ve never done it before. We’ll show you how to use the band, then you can keep the band and keep doing your exercises at home.|
|July 14||Prospect||Cardio Hip Hop||Come, get your cardio in with this fun, fast-paced, all-level, aerobics class using rhythm and movement from hip hop dancing. No prior experience required.|
|Aug. 11||Candy Cane||Yoga||This class provides an introduction to yoga poses including seated and standing postures, gentle inversions and twists and some balancing postures. Breath exercises to calm the mind and turn down the stress level and some short sequences to introduce a link between breath with movement. Come learn and experience basic yoga postures.|
|Sept. 8||Riverside||Wellness Walking||From this class, you’ll learn better walking techniques based on natural movements. You’ll learn foot and ankle exercises that will lead to greater balance, sensory connections, stability, and strength. Come get the benefits of walking and moving better.|
